Saturday in Utah- Temple Square

After Antelope Island, we were a little tired, and a lot of hungry.  We drove back to the city with the idea of making lunch at the house.

That was until we saw this sign.  A famous In-N-Out burger, as read in all of the Tucker Max books.  On the east coast,   the legend of In-N-Out burger is like the legend of Big Foot.  I have heard of sighting but never witnessed such a thing - until now.

We both screeched and grabbed two burgers, animal style, for lunch.
Thatcher knew all about the secret menu - Animal Style burgers include pickles, extra spread, grilled onions, and mustard fried onto each meat patty.  We split a fry and a soda and entered the land of food comas.

Next on the list was the Mormon Temple and Temple Square.  I am not religious by any means.  I do however, appreciate a beautiful building and a little bit of history, and try to respect other people's beliefs.    Religion is a touchy subject for many and we all of our own opinions so I am going to say very  little and let you enjoy the beautiful photos of Temple Square.

Beautiful pictures of the Mormon Temple and Angel Moroni (the gold statue) against the clouds.

FUN FACT  Due to its height and conductivity, it is not unheard of for an angel Moroni statue to be struck by lightning during a thunderstorm just like a lightning rod.

Temple square was a beautiful area and another must see if you are visiting Sale Lake City.  While you cannot actually go in the temple, there are visitors center chock full of information, pictures, and very friendly tour guides.  The square is also a lovely place to walk around and enjoy the sunshine.

After visiting temple square, we headed back toward Thatcher's apartment where I took a few pictures of this beautiful clean amazing little city.

For dinner Thatcher told me we had to try this mongolian grill he had heard about.  I have never been to a mongolian grill before.  But let me tell you, it is a magical place.   You grab a bowl and walk over to a buffet/bar of different noodles, rices, vegetables, meats, and sauces.  You assemble whatever combination you would like and leave it at for the chefs to cook up for you.  Oh, and did I mention it is all you can eat?  We made different amazing pad thai, stir fry delicious combinations.   We had far too many bowls but enjoyed the much needed walk home.

Salt Lake City has such a variety of amazing foods, bars, and entertainment.
Good food..good people,  my kind of place :)

On our walk back home,
we stopped at the Galvin Center to watch the ice skating crowds and live music.

Does this city get any better?
